The studio, formerly known as Shiliufen Cultural Center, is situated in an old building beside Shengxing Train Station. The center used to showcase objects relating to the old railway. With supervision from the Old Mountain Railway Cultural Association, the building was lent to pottery artist Wu Chang-chien to open the present Shengxing Studio. At its front, a dozen small artistic stands are there for visitors to explore.
In the studio, wood-fired pottery urns, cups, and sculptures such as dragon-fish and dragon-turtles by artist Wu are on display. DIY pottery classes are also available - they are personally led by Wu. The class attendants can learn to make pottery cups, bowls, plates, vases, and sculptures on their own. The works, each unique in its own way, will be glazed afterwards.
