From April 13 to 28, 2019, Dawo History & Nature Association in Dahu Township, Miaoli County will hold a music festival and some memorial events for the “Rock of Dakuailin,” a folk deity of the town. Teaching and performances of Tung blossom-themed singing will be arranged, along with a tasting of authentic Hakka food. Family visitors are especially encouraged to watch fireflies in the region at night, as Dawo’s mountain valleys are often filled with the dazzling insects.
