The “Miaoli Performing Arts Festival” showcasing unique local artistic and cultural characteristics from Miaoli enters its 7th year. Since the event’s 2018 debut, it has become a landmark national cultural celebration. During every summer vacation, the area is transformed into a sea of art, attracting the attention of people from across Taiwan. The charming 2024 Miaoli Performing Arts Festival will start on July 6 and end on August 24. The theme “Skills interwoven into memories, celebrating with splendid radiance,” brings together outstanding artists and performing troupes from all over the world, providing the audience with a visual and auditory spiritual feast that demonstrates Miaoli’s infinite love of art and boundless cultural inheritance.
2he 2024 Miaoli Performing Arts Festival brings together a variety of performing arts forms, including drama, dance, music, cross-disciplinary arts etc. The opening and venue produced program, “Cleaning Diary No.____,” is presented by EX-Theater Asia, which has been selected as the Taiwan Top Performing Arts Group for 15 consecutive years. The story focuses on the D.D. Angels who take care of seniors who live alone and touches on social care issues. The following two performances are the best in the program selection. MAD LAB presents a brand-new and original “new dance drama,” “The environmental wizard is angry,” and Guo Chih-Yuan Choir, an outstanding local performing, launches “Fong Yi Ting,” which interprets a love story from the Three Kingdoms era via cross-disciplinary music and dance. The closing program will feature an innovative performance “Return III” which transcends tradition and will be performed by Wu Kung Shu, from Sanyi Township in Miaoli, showcasing a fusion of elements including parade formation, dragon art, aerial acrobatics and multimedia so the audience experiences Jong-Jeng Hall as never before.
