The season of tung blossoms has arrived once again. The Miaoli County Government has joined hands with five townships to co-host the "2025 Miaoli Tung Blossom Festival - Tung Blossom Fun and Mini Tours," inviting people from across Taiwan to explore Miaoli and discover the beautiful snow-white tung blossoms while experiencing the cultural charm of Hakka culture.
To welcome the romantic "April snow," the event, "Tung Blossom Fun," was held in Zaoqiao Township on April 20, featuring forest trails, blooming tung blossoms, and local agricultural specialties. Activities included performances by local Hakka cultural groups, hands-on workshops, farmers’ markets, and Hakka language games. Street performers were also invited to guide visitors with music and song as they searched for tung blossoms and wandered through forests blanketed in snow-like petals.
A series of township-led tung blossom mini tours are also lined up, including the "Sanyi Tung Blossom Appreciation" on April 19, "Hakka Tung Blossom Festival - May Snowfall" on April 26, "Miaoli Tung Blossom Mini Tour" on May 3, and the "Tung Blossom Music Festival" in Nanzhuang on May 10 to 11. These tours and activities invite everyone to take a scenic trip into the hills, admire the falling petals, and experience the beauty of Miaoli’s mountain towns.
