The 2026 Taiwan Lantern Festival concluded on the evening of March 15 in Chiayi County with a closing ceremony and the official handover of the festival lantern. Miaoli, which previously hosted the festival in 2011, will take up the mantle once again after 16 years. Under the theme of “Between Mountains and Sea: Radiant Miaoli, a City of Slow Living,” Miaoli announces to Taiwan that a renewed city featuring stunning mountain and coastal landscapes, rich cultural depth, a slow-living atmosphere, and technological capacity is set to take the stage at the Taiwan Lantern Festival.
The 2027 Taiwan Lantern Festival is scheduled to run from February 20 to March 7, 2027. The public is warmly invited to visit Miaoli and experience the dazzling sea of lanterns under the theme “Between Mountains and Sea: Radiant Miaoli, a City of Slow Living,” where culture unites with mountain and coastal landscapes, showcasing the city’s vibrant new identity.
