The 2021 Hakka Tung Blossom Festival is about to start. The white blooming flowers can now be appreciated in mountainous Miaoli. A total of 14 flower events will be held from April 18 to May 30 by the county government, district offices, and local associations, such as Tung flower weddings, Tung blossom walks, open-air markets, and music parties. All visitors are cordially invited to watch beautiful Tung flowers that cover mountains and fields in Miaoli as if they were snow. Enjoy the romantic Hakka town and walk Tung blossom trails.
April and May are the season of fireflies. Since Miaoli’s mountains are still quite primitive, they serve as a diverse nature. The well preserved firefly-watching areas include Spring Creek B&B in Zhuolan, Dawo Mountain in Dahu, Sanyi the globally renowned LOHAS town, and Nanzhuang Township. These areas are also characterized by creeks, steep hills, mountain valleys, and old vines. On a midsummer night, visitors can easily enjoy a sparkling sky of fireflies in Miaoli.
