Miaoli Locomotive Park uses abandoned TRA dormitories to provide visitors with a place to get close to railway culture via entertainment and education. The park is scheduled to be completed and officially open in 2023.
It will include a vision pavilion, railway culture and history exhibition, specialty restaurant, pavilion tower, and railway cultural and creative products promoted by on-site artisans, highlighted chain brands, innovate products, special Hakka delicacies using local ingredients, and roasted coffee. It is expected that public art works, a dynamic train turntable exhibition hall, indoor main exhibition hall, outdoor exhibition area, railway culture experience room, and more than 10 display trains will also be available next year. The layout of the park will reference the Railway Museum in Omiya, Japan, to create a brand new tourist attraction in Miaoli, providing a family-oriented travel experience that combines railway culture and local characteristics.
