Taiwan’s largest sustainability event, the "SDG Asia Expo," gathers hundreds of participants from government, academia, and the corporate world. The expo showcases achievements from both domestic and international groups that are collectively steering Taiwan toward sustainable development. This year, with the theme "Sustainability Wave," the expo highlights seven key areas - policy, cities, corporations, lifestyles, education, NGOs, and international cooperation - aiming to boost economic value and become a catalyst for global sustainability.
For the first time, the Environmental Protection Department of Miaoli County Government is participating in the expo with the theme "Smart Mountain City, Sustainable Miaoli." The exhibit centers on Miaoli's "Smart City" strategy, showcasing the county government's initiatives across five key areas: agriculture, transportation, healthcare, tourism, and administration. In agriculture, the county actively promotes organic farming and traceable production to enhance agricultural quality through smart management. In transportation, a traffic control center has been established to alleviate congestion and improve transport efficiency. The healthcare sector is focused on developing smart medical systems to elevate overall health standards. For tourism, Miaoli connects the unique features of its mountain and coastal areas, inspiring creativity and offering visitors the chance to experience the local charm through "slow travel" and "slow food." Lastly, in administration, the county integrates internet technology to provide smart and convenient services for citizens, painting a complete picture of Miaoli's sustainable future.
