Yuanli Township has the largest rice cultivation area within the county, and is traditionally known as the "Miaoli Barn". In addition, there is a traditional rush weaving craft that has been passing down for hundreds of years. Yuanli Township Farmers Association and Soil and Taichung Branch Soil and Water Conservation Bureau, Yuanli Township Xinfu Community Development Association co-worked to hold the "Yuanli Rush Life Festival" nex to the Farmers' Association Love Orchard and the Rush Culture Center aiming to promote the industry and cultural characteristics of Yuanli with the three main axes of agronomy, craftsmanship and culinary art.
Yuanli Farmers Association has promoted rice field color painting for 20 years. The Farmers Association Love Orchard Shop has been established for the 18th year. This year, it was upgraded to a farmer direct selling stop. The farmland next to Love Orchard is an important point to display rice field color paintings. Currently, the second cropped field demonstrated the themes “Celebrating the Harvest" and "70 Years of the 4-H Club ", attracting a many tourists.
When paying a visit to Yuanli, visitors experience hand-made rush weaving, appreciate the color painting of rice fields, and go to the direct selling stop to buy the freshest vegetables and fruits, and experience the fun of roaming in a rustic town.
