Yuan Li coastline has a diverse ecosystem. In recent years, Yuan Li Township Office and Chung Chou University of Science and Technology, the executive team, have jointly organized and promoted the “Matcha Wan Li” project to enhance the energy of Wan Li coastal guided tours and promote the local creation of marine culture.
As the appearance of matcha gravel involves both the season and the tidal time, the Wan Li Matcha Coast can only be seen at low tide, which is a unique feature in Yuan Li. Therefore, Yuan Li Township Office calculates and estimates the "Matcha Index" based on the tidal time and posts it on the official fan page of the Office on a monthly basis so that it is convenient for tourists to make travel arrangements and will not make a pointless trip there.
Everyone is welcome to come to Yuan Li to enjoy Matcha, visit the beach, and buy sedge weaving products.
At the press conference on the release of the Wan Li Matcha Index, attendees such as Magistrate of Miao Li County and the councilmen thanked those who made their concerted efforts for tourism development and local ecological conservation. Also, the famous local calligrapher in Yuan Li personally wrote down "Matcha Wanli" in the style of Jin Nong as a souvenir of the treasured calligraphy to the Yuan Li Township Office.
