The annual Sanyi Wood Carving Festival has just been unveiled. As a side event, from July 20 to October 17, 2021, the Taiwan International Art Exhibition of Wood Sculpture will be on display amid much fanfare. Due to the pneumonia outbreak, all visitors must make reservations in advance by phone (Tel: 037-876009). All citizens are cordially invited to take part.
The 2021 Taiwan International Installation Art Exhibition of Wood Sculpture features interactive, immersive works which resonate with the exhibition space. Together they demonstrate a special sentiment/aura. The artworks are divided into two categories, “on-site creations” and “art on invitation.” Two of the resident artists are from Japan - Mizutani Atsushi from Gifu Prefecture and Atsushi Yoshida from Gunma Prefecture. The two local aspiring resident artists are Shih Chia-hui and You Tsung-mu. Three large installations are invited for the exhibition, and they all bring visitors with beautiful sensory experiences. With a unique curatorial approach, the exhibition expounds on “a dialogue between the surreal and the real.” “Light, shades and objects” serve as the three main elements to interact with spectators, who can expect an unprecedented museum experience.
Sanyi Wood Sculpture Museum receives a limited number of visitors on reservation during the exhibition period. Only 100 visitors may stay in the museum at a time. All visitors must carry out COVID-19 prevention measures, such as measuring body temperature, sanitizing hands, leaving real names and IDs, and wearing surgical masks throughout the visit. Those whose temperature exceeds 37.5℃ or do not abide by the rules will not be allowed to enter the museum. They must also keep proper social distance during the tour. Lastly, those who love wood sculpture art are cordially welcome.
